Funnel recipe: monetize leftover traffic with an Offer Wall

Turn thank-you and exit traffic into tracked offer revenue without touching your primary lead sale path.

Funnel recipe: monetize leftover traffic with an Offer Wall

Every form submit leaves attention on the table. The lead may have sold — or it may have bounced — but the visitor is still there. This recipe shows how to put a Datahubb Offer Wall on that leftover moment so clicks and advertiser conversions attribute back to the same journey.

Why this funnel exists

Lead distribution pays when a buyer accepts. Offer walls pay when leftover visitors click and convert downstream. Running both in one stack means you stop treating “not sold” (or “already sold, still browsing”) as dead air.

What you need

  • A live campaign with Click Tracking on
  • A CPC buyer on that campaign (Buyer type = CPC) so advertiser conversions can attribute
  • One or more Offers with destination URLs and payouts
  • An Offer Wall you can embed on a thank-you or exit page
  • Advertiser postbacks for cpc using the Datahubb click id and that CPC buyer id

Build it

  1. Enable click tracking on the campaign and confirm inbound tracker URLs create rows under Clicks.
  2. Create a CPC buyer on the campaign — advertiser conversions require this buyer id on the inbound postback.
  3. Create offers under Offers — destination URL, payout, geo rules, optional consumer filters.
  4. Create a wall under Offer Walls, assign those offers, and pick a layout + sort (revenue-aware sorts help once you have history).
  5. Copy the wall Embed snippet onto your thank-you / exit page.
  6. Keep previous-click and lead context on the page so offer clicks inherit the journey (traffic source, lead id, prior click).
  7. Give advertisers the inbound cpc postback from the Postback Guide (includes buyer_id for the CPC buyer) and tell them to send the click id as transaction_id.
  8. Send a test visitor through form → thank-you wall → offer click → test postback attributed to the CPC buyer.

What you should see

  • Offer clicks appear in Clicks with offer / wall context
  • Bot and geo-blocked clicks are visible but not redirected like live traffic
  • Conversions show on the click and in Offers → Analytics (EPC, CPM, revenue)
  • Primary lead sales stay on your normal distribution path; the wall is additive revenue

Edge cases

  • Empty wall: filters (geo, zip, advanced profile rules) hid every offer for that visitor
  • Missing lead attribution: wall loaded without an upstream tracked click / lead
  • EPC looks flat on day one: sorts that use earned revenue need a short history window

What’s next

Once the wall is live, tighten offer geo and rotate low-EPC offers weekly. If you also run ping/post for the primary sale, keep the wall strictly post-submit so it never competes with the buyer auction.

Frequently asked questions

No, if you place it after submit or on exit. The primary lead still goes through campaign distribution. The wall monetizes attention that remains afterward.

Advertiser conversions from offer clicks attribute through an inbound cpc postback that requires a buyer_id. Create a buyer with Buyer type CPC on the campaign before partners fire conversions.

Usually no. Use the same campaign’s click tracking and inherit traffic source and lead context into the wall so reporting stays unified.

Check Offers analytics for clicks, conversions, EPC, and revenue, and confirm CPC postbacks on individual clicks in the Clicks dashboard against your CPC buyer.

Confirm offers and the wall are Active, then relax geo or advanced filters. A strict profile rule hides the offer when the field is missing.
